Senior Communications Executive
Job Purpose
To support in the execution of the Group Communication Approach and plans aligned with the business plans and all key stakeholders both internal and external in the UAE and GCC region. To contribute to the positive positioning and perception of Al Tayer through all appropriate and approved internal and external communications and engagement channels.
Job Requirements
Education/Certification and Continued Education
• Ideally a Degree in Media or Communications and/or Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized tertiary institution
Years of Experience
• 6-8 years’ work experience in Corporate Communications or similar field, (e.g. Internal Communications, PR Management) within a large complex multi-national company
Knowledge and Skills
• Creation of digital content
• Excellent command of English: writing, speaking, understanding (native level)
• Experience of implementing corporate communications plans and collaboration in complex business situations at group/HO level
• Ability to develop engaging content and grasp complex business concepts
• Highly organised, able to balance multiple projects and deadlines, manage multiple stakeholders
• Ability to manage external agencies, specifically as a liaison between internal stakeholders and agencies
• Budget-conscious and assist with the annual budgeting and spend, manage payments and PO’s, invoicing.
• Understanding of the UAE and GCC regions, including cultural sensitives and norms
• Good understanding of how media works in relevant region
Languages
• Excellent command of English: writing, speaking, understanding
• Native Arabic speaker preferable
Essential Roles and Responsibilities
Strategic Roles and Responsibilities
• Support the communication function in satisfying internal and external stakeholder needs and enable business to achieve its goals
• Support the implementation of the communications teams plans and campaigns for the Group
• Support the content development and the implementation of the internal communication tools and platforms for the Group
Functional Roles and Responsibilities
• Manage CMS, engagement forums and tools, social media and digital communications (Yammer, LinkedIn, Facebook, Intranet, Newsletter, Corp Website) and engage with Business Units to keep these updated and relevant
• Develop content in conjunction with agency support for all internal communications platforms, including writing, photography, videography
• Support internal engagement and stakeholder management and relationship building across the Group
• Support the team in all media relations, PR, crisis and issue management for the Group
• Take initiative and suggest ways to significantly influence the way the communication function is operating
• Support the Implementation of the new communication processes, systems, standards and policies across the Group
• Support the implementation of transformational change projects
• Develop content and narrative for external PR at the Group level
• Manage of all day to day internal communication related activities both internally and externally
• Support agency review meetings and the implementation of SLA’s
• Responsible for raising of LPO’s, track, monitor and report monthly
• Recommend and use the most appropriate tools, approaches, events and vehicles (e.g. PR, Radio, TV, Print, Online) to communicate the corporate brand values that positions Al Tayer in the best possible light
